What I Know So Far

With seven chapters of the first messy draft of my book done, this is what I know so far.

I am motivated by what I can’t see. Something beyond the horizon that has not been created yet.

In 2015, I started a book but didn’t get past the introduction.

What is different now is that I have come full circle, closed the gap, and sealed in the large volume of work I have created over my lifetime, especially the last 10 years, along with the discipline with which I did it. All the shows, courses, workshops, collages, talks, and personal projects I spent hours bringing to life, as well as the research I have done on authenticity and purpose.

What is different now is I can stand on top of that circle as the dweller on the threshold of creating something new, looking back at what is in there without any shame, blame or criticism.

What is different now is that I know my belief in a better world by maintaining our authenticity and allowing others to do the same seems obvious, but to get that simple belief down into the pages of a book that someday might help someone is a complex balancing act, trusting all that is contained in that circle and having the courage to stand on the horizon of something new.

Will this be a good book? Will people want to buy it? I have no idea, but what I do know is I have been building up to this moment for a long time.
